With more than $54 million invested in Lower Columbia businesses and residents, nonprofit lender opens new space on Astoria waterfront to better support long-term regional footprint
Craft3, a nonprofit lender that has been providing loans to residents of the Lower Columbia region for 22 years, announced today the opening of a new, consolidated regional office at the historic Fisher Brothers Building in Astoria, Oregon. The office replaces two separate locations – one on each side of the Columbia River – at Pier 39 Astoria and the Port of Ilwaco. The new office will house twenty Craft3 employees.
“We are pleased to have found a great spot to consolidate our presence in the Lower Columbia. The mouth of the river, both sides, has been home for 22 years, and we look forward to many more decades of making investments in our friends and neighbors around the region,” said President and CEO Adam Zimmerman.
Since it first opened its doors at the Port of Ilwaco in 1994, Craft3 has been fortunate to work with innovators and entrepreneurs throughout the greater Lower Columbia. The nonprofit has invested $54 million in the region's entrepreneurs and homeowners – including Jimella's Seafood Market, Clatsop Community College, Bridgewater Bistro, Fort George Brewery + Public House, the Adrift Hotel, and Goose Point Oysters, amongst others.
Floyd Holcom, owner of Pier 39 in Astoria, is another one of those entrepreneurs. In 2005, Craft3 began its partnership with Holcom, supporting his restoration of Astoria’s largest and oldest waterfront building and site of the historic Bumble Bee Cannery. Two years later, Craft3 opened its first true Astoria office at Pier 39 – and operated there until the recent move.
The Fisher Brothers Building has long been an institution on the Astoria waterfront. Fisher Brothers Industrial Supply had occupied the building since 1906, and relocated with its parent company, Englund Marine, to a newly constructed facility at the Port of Astoria in 2006. In 2006, the building was renovated as Class B office space on the main level and four apartments on the second floor. Craft3 will be the sole commercial tenant occupying the entire main floor.
The address of the new office is 42 7th Street, Suite 100
, near Buoy Beer.
