Joey Murphy

Craft3 provided Joey Murphy with a Clean Water Loan to cover the costs of designing, permitting, installing and maintaining his new septic system. As a fisherman with season income, Joey appreciates having an affordable loan that he can pay over fifteen years and make extra payments if, and when, he wants.

Joey Murphy knew he needed to repair the septic system when he purchased his Pierce County home. He budgeted $5,000 to cover those costs. But after getting bids from local septic professionals, he learned that the age of the septic required a new system be installed, costing almost four times more than he originally planned.

The way Joey saw it, he had two options; sell his newly purchased home or obtain a loan to install a new system. Joey contacted his local bank but was unable to obtain the funds needed. Then he learned that the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department had teamed up with Craft3 to offer Clean Water Loans throughout the county.

Craft3 provided Joey with a Clean Water Loan to cover the costs of designing, permitting, installing and maintaining his new septic system. Our investment in Joey Murphy strengthens ecological and family resilience
by building assets and improving water quality and supply. It also strengthens economic resilience by supporting local septic professionals.

As a fisherman with season income, Joey appreciates having an affordable loan that he can pay over fifteen years and make extra payments if, and when, he wants. He preserved the value of his property and treated 86,400 gallons of waste water by replacing his failing septic system.
