
Michelle DePass joined the board in 2026 and brings expertise from a background in energy efficiency, climate policy and governance.
She was born in Portland where she attended elementary and high school, and lived in Caracas, Guadalajara, Los Angeles and Washington DC before returning to Portland.
Michelle is a Climate Policy Analyst at the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability and is serving her second term on the Portland Public Schools Board of Education, currently as the Vice Chair. Formerly she served on the boards of the Artists Mentorship Program, Historic Parkrose, the Native American Chamber of Commerce, and the Community Energy Project where she brings a strong equity lens to the work.
Michelle holds a BS in Community Development and pursued an MBA in Sustainable Business at the Bainbridge Graduate Institute.
