Michael joined Craft3 as the Grants Development Manager, VP in 2025. In this role, he leads grant fundraising efforts, manages relationships with funders, and writes grant proposals. One of his favorite parts of this work is collaborating with others and making a significant impact through fundraising.
Over the past 15 years, he’s held roles at organizations like FOOD for Lane County, Oregon Community Foundation, the Portland Art Museum, and Comagine Health. He was drawn to Craft3’s work in community development and climate action, and how it improves livability and creates opportunities for people in the Pacific Northwest.
As a lifelong Oregonian who grew up in Eugene, Michael reflects on the importance of this work especially as he raises his daughter: “I have a two-year-old daughter who is the center of my world. I want to help ensure that she and all other kids in our region grow up in a just and welcoming place.”
Outside of work, Michael teaches and performs long-form improvisational comedy at Portland’s Kickstand Comedy. “Comedy has been a big part of my life for the past decade,” he says. “I believe it makes me a better listener and a more playful and empathetic person.” He also enjoys playing guitar, baking sourdough bread, listening to music, and gardening.
