Rachel Langford

she/her
Early Care and Education Program Manager
NMLS#:
“I'm a systems-change fanatic.”

Rachel leads Craft3’s involvement in Build Up Oregon, a collaborative focused on creating more high-quality early care and education spaces in Oregon through increased investments in facilities, technical assistance, and system improvements. Craft3 is the lead partner in Build Up Oregon, which also includes Microenterprise Services of Oregon (MESO), Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) and Network for Oregon Affordable Housing (NOAH). Recognizing that all communities benefit from expanded access to childcare, Rachel aims to do transformative work by helping early care and education providers navigate past long-standing barriers to opening and expanding their facilities and meeting our communities’ childcare needs.

“I'm thrilled to be in the position to help untangle this web of challenges and bring much-needed funding and technical support to these entrepreneurs providing a vital community service. I love collaborating with others to change the way systems work so that they better meet the needs of those who depend on them to thrive.”

Prior to joining Craft3 in 2023, Rachel worked with Social Venture Partners, leading their Child Care Facilities Initiative. She also worked for more than a decade for Home Forward, the housing authority serving Multnomah County. At Home Forward she was, at different times, responsible for managing community services staff and partnerships for a portfolio of community redevelopment projects and aligning housing and education services.

Born and raised in Bozeman, Montana, Rachel believes in never losing sight of the fact that “my wellbeing is inextricably bound up in the wellbeing of all others.” Feeling most grounded in nature, she enjoys outdoor forests and indoor gardening.
