Leveraging capital to pursue equity and justice has long been a thread in Bruce’s career. His expertise in working across public, private and nonprofit sectors to empower communities underpins his central role of directing and executing Craft3’s strategic objectives. Bruce integrates these efforts into his oversight of the company’s work securing capital needed to fund Craft3’s lending and operations, engaging in public policy and relationships with other stakeholders, driving evaluation and innovation across the organization, and providing legal and other enterprise-wide risk management support for the company.
With a JD and MBA, Bruce has taken on a variety of roles in his career – law firm partner, corporate philanthropist, and Deputy Mayor of Seattle, to name a few. His 10+ years of Board service to the Endowment for Equal Justice is another hat he wears gladly, advising the Endowment as it manages a fund that provides long-term, flexible funding to support civil legal aid services for low-income people across Washington State.
Bruce joined Craft3 as General Counsel in 2016, pivoted to Board service in 2021 while working in the private sector, and soon after assumed his current role, to everyone’s great satisfaction. He is an avid runner or cyclist depending on the season, and relishes time with family and friends.
